| Compromise of 1850 | Fugitive Slave Act amended, Slave trade was banned in D.C., and California was admitted into the union |
| Kansas-Nebraska Act | Where the government allowed for the residents of the two territories to vote if they wanted their state to enter as a slave or free state |
| Dred Scott v. Sanford | Case that stated that slaves are property and have no rights at all |
| Fugitive Slave Act | Stated that if you saw a runaway you must catch the slave and return the slave to its owner. If not you would be arrested |
