Non-Violent Protests: Showing disapproval without damaging property or using violence. For example: Marching and Petitions. Reconciliation: Making up and saying sorry after a quarrel or dispute and working together again. For example: Forgiving one another.
Christianity Humanity- 'Do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Laws and the Prophets.' Islam Humanity 'None of you is a believer until he desires for his brother what he desires for himself.'
Christianity Forgiveness- 'Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.' Islam Forgiveness- 'If someone pardons and puts things right, his reward is with Allah.'
Suffering has a purpose Christianity- Jesus was the son of God but he suffered when he was placed on the cross, it had a purpose of everlasting life for humans. Suffering has a purpose Islam- Allah is Ar-Rahim, the Most Compassionate; there is a reason for suffering as Allah ensures no one suffers more than they can bear.
Pacifism (Christianity)- Martin Luther King & Oscar Romero Jesus said: 'Turn the other cheek.','Love your neighbour as yourself.','Treat the others as you want to be treated.','Those who live by the sword will die by the sword.'- Donkey;Symbol of peace. Christians' Golden rule: 'Treat others the way you want to be treated.' Shows Christians that peace, harmony and forgiveness is the correct way.
Christian views on reconciliation: -Story of Zaccheaus- Shows that everyone deserves a second chance if they are sorry and ask for forgiveness. -Sermon on the Mount- 'Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.' -Good Friday:'Forgive them father for the do not know what they are doing.' Islamic Views on Reconciliation: -‘Islam’ means ‘Peace’-Muslims should work towards peace. ‘Not one of you is a believer, until he desires for his brother that which he desires for himself.’ -‘Peace be upon you’-when greeting someone.
Christianity Love for enemies- 'Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.' Islam Love for enemies- 'Repay your evil with good, and he who is your enemy will become your dearest friend.'
