What is the Treaty of Rome ? The Treaty of Rome, officially the Treaty establishing the European Economic Community (TEEC), is an international agreement that led to the founding of the European Economic Community (EEC) on 1 January 1958. It was signed on 25 March 1957 by Belgium, France, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and West Germany. The word Economic was deleted from the treaty's name by the Maastricht Treaty in 1993, and the treaty was repackaged as the Treaty on the functioning of the European Union on the entry into force of the Treaty of Lisbon in 2009.

How many people represent the European Parliament and What is there responsibility ? European Parliament-consists of 751 members directly elected by people in each member state. The number of seats for each reflects the members population. It has little power to create new laws. Its responsible for discussing and making recommendations. All changes must be agreed by the Council of Members
Who are the ECJ ? It stands for the European Court of Justice. Its rulings become law and all member states are bound by it If community law and natural law conflict, community law takes precedent
