All Living Organisms share the same 8 general characteristics. These 8 characteristics explain the basis of biology and the commonalities between organisms.
1. Nutrition, All organisms need nutrition for growth and repair. Proteins, Carbohydrates, Fats, Vitamins and minerals
2. They respire, Respiration is the release of energy from food sources.
3. They Excrete, Excretion is the removal of waste products such as Carbon dioxide and urine.
4. They Respond, Organisms react to changes in their surroundings.
5. They Move, Organisms will move to things like food and water and away from things like predators and poisons.
6. Control their internal conditions, Organisms can control their internal temperature and water content.
7. They reproduce, Reproduction is essential to ensure the continuation of the species.
8. They grow and develop, Organisms grow and develop into their adult form.
