It takes
1. It takes is an expresision. It takes describes how much time is necessary to do a certain activity.
2. We make negative statements with "it takes" the same way as we do with most verbs, that is, by using does + not.
3. We make interrogative sentences with "it takes" the same way as we do with most verbs, that is, by using does.
4. Examples:
  1. It takes a long time to sweep the floor.
  2. it doesn´t take a long time to sweep the floor.
  3. Does it take long time to sweep the floor?
It takes + person
1. We can mention a person after it takes to describe how much time that person needs to do a certain activity
  1. Examples:
    1. How long does it take you to come to school.
    2. It usually takes me around one hour.
Using "for whit the present perteft tense and the simple past tense
1. In the simple past, we use to understand the duration of the action or situation ended in the past.
2. In the simple past, we use to understand the duration of the action or situation continues in the present.
3. Examples:
  1. We lived in illinois for three years.
  2. And now we´ve benn here for a year.
