    • Through sensitivity we respond to changes in the environment. These changes are called stimuli
    1. Sense organs send information to the brain.
      1. Brain gives orders to the muscles
      2. The skin
        1. The largest organ in the body. It tells us about the things that come into contact with our body
        2. The tongue
          1. It allows us to distinguish flavour and identify foods.
            1. Taste buds have receptors to detect flavours: sweet, salty, sour and bitter.
              1. Taste receptors send information to the brain trough taste nerves.
          2. The nose
            1. It allows us to capture smells in the air that we breathe.
              1. Receptors in the olfactory epithelium send information to the brain trhough the olfactory nerve.
            2. The eyes
              1. They detect light so we can see shapes and colours, and estimate distances.
              2. The ears
                1. It allows us to hear sounds.
              3. The locomotor system
                1. The skeletal system
                  1. Bones meet at joints: fixed or movable.
                    1. Bones are held together by ligaments
                    2. The end of the bones are covered by an elastic materal called cartilage
                    3. The muscular system
                      1. Muscle are joined to the bones by ligaments
                        1. Most muscles work in pairs: antagonists.
                          1. Flexing and extending movement.
