- 2.Regular routine observations: Auscultation - every 5 minutes, BP - 4 hrly, Pulse hrly, Temperature 4hrly -

- 3.Accurately record the time of EVERYTHING - pushing commenced, vertex visible, head delivered etc.

- 6.In order for all this to happen effectively and efficiently there is a sequence of internal movements
which must take place, they are; Descent, Flexion, Internal Rotation (of the head),Crowning, Extension,
Restitution, Internal Rotation (of the shoulders - visible by external rotation of head) and Lateral Flexion
- 7.Effective communication with parents is key
- 8.Any deviations from the norm should be referred appropriately to a
member of the wider MDT
- 9.VE hrly in 2nd stage of labour (offered) or at maternal request
