    1. Random Access Memory
      1. RAM is a fast temporary type of memory in which programs, applications and data are stored.
        1. All open programmes, instructions and data currently being used for the CPU to process are stored on the RAM.
          1. Volatile
            1. You can change what is stored on the RAM, for example when ever you open a different programme it changes.
            2. ROM
              1. ROM is memory that cannot be changed by a program or user. ROM retains its memory even after the computer is turned off. For ROM is memory that cannot be changed by a program or user. ROM retains its memory even after the computer is turned off.
                1. ROM stores the instructions for the computer to start up when it is turned on again. RAM
