1.1 nth: 1 2 3 4
1.2 term: 5 8 11 14
1.3 Formula:
1.3.1 nth term = dn + (a - d)
1.3.1.1 d is the common difference and a is the first term
1.4 --> +3 -->
1.4.1 The difference between the numers is 3, so 3n is the formula.

1.4.1.1.1.1 You have +2 to get to the term

2 Deciding if a Term is in a Sequence
2.1 It's dead easy!
2.1.1 Example:
2.1.1.1 The nth term of a sequence is given by n^2 - 2.
2.1.1.1.1 Find the 6th term in the sequence.
2.1.1.1.1.1 put n=6 into the expression:
2.1.1.1.1.1.1 6^2 - 2 = 36 - 2
2.1.1.1.1.1.1.1 = 34
2.1.1.1.2 Is 45 a term in the sequence?
2.1.1.1.2.1 Set it equal to 45... n^2 - 2 = 45
2.1.1.1.2.1.1 n^2 = 47
2.1.1.1.2.1.1.1 n = √47 = 6.8556...
2.1.1.1.2.1.1.1.1 n is not a whole number, so 47 is not in the sequence: n^2 - 2
