Work & Power
  1. KINETIC ENERGY ( KE )
    1. KE = Energy of Movement
      1. Measured in Joules ( It's Energy )
      2. KE = 1/2 x mass x speed(sq)
      3. WORK DONE
        1. Work Done = Energy Transfered
          1. Measured in Joules ( J )
          2. Work Done = Force X Distance Moved W = FD
            1. If a car is pushed 5m with a force of 340N how much work has been done to it?
              1. ANSWER:
                1. W = 5 x 340
                  1. = 1700J
            2. POWER
              1. Power = The rate of doing Work
                1. Measured in Watts ( W ) or J/s
                2. Power = Work Done / Time Taken
                  1. If a bulb outputs 10J of energy in 1min. Find its power
                    1. ANSWER:
                      1. P= 10/60
                        1. = 1/6
                  2. GRAVITATIONAL POTENITAL ENERGY ( GPE )
                    1. GPE = Stored Energy
                      1. The stored energy is given to the object when it is raised up and only released when the object falls again
                      2. GPE = Mass x g(10) x height GPE = mgh
                      3. GPE --> KE
                        1. Falling objects convert GPE into KE
                          1. The KE Gained
                            1. =
                              1. GPE Lost
