Neural Tissue
  1. neural tissue — aka nerve/nervous tissue specialized for the propagation (movement) of electrical impulses fro one region of body to next 98% of neural tissue in body is the brain and spinal cord — control centres of nervous system frequency and pattern of electrical impulses convey info
    1. 2 Types
      1. neurons — longest cells in body — cannot divide after injury has a large cell body w/ large nucleus and nucleolus — extending from cell body are branched projections called dendrites (receive info from other neurons) and one axon (conducts info to other cells) bc axons are very long and slender, they are also called nerve fibres
        1. neuroglia — several kinds of supporting cells support and repair neural tissue and supply nutrients
