Basis of Behaviour by Alex
  1. Neuron structures & functions
    1. Dendrites receive messages, Axons send messages, Myelin sheaths speed messages up, terminal buttons release neurotransmitters
      1. resting potential , when a neutron is inactive
        1. Action Potential, a brief shift in electrical charge
          1. All or None Law, Neuron fires or doesn't no in between
          2. Synapse
            1. presynaptic neuron sends signal, postsynaptic neuron recieves signal
              1. neurotransmitters tiny chemicals transfer info
                1. Acetylcholine, attention voluntary muscles, arousal & memory
                  1. Antagonist: blocks neurotransmitter, Agonist: acts like neurotransmitter
