    1. similar to Augustines in the sense that both theodicy's state that evil partially origiantes from humans free will
      1. choosing to disobey god causes this
      2. God is partially responsible for the existance of evil

                                              1. huamns deserve evil and suffering- and natural evil is a "penal consequence of sin"
                                                1. all humans deserve adams punishment as we were all seminally present within adam at the fall
                                                  1. God is a just god and for this reason he will not put an end to our self invoked suffering- as we are worthy of it, and deserve it as a punishment
                                                    1. God does however offer everyone the chance of redemption- as he sent his one son to die for our sins. by accepting JC we are able to redeem ourselves
                                              2. evil is a privation rather than an entitiy
