        1. Resiviours help to settle out dirt and allow the water to be distributed

                    1. Waste water is used to keep the sewers clean
                    2. Regulations relating to Public Health
                      1. Water commisioners were appointed to make sure the system was working properly
                        1. In times of drought private supply of water was rationed
                          1. Dead bodies had to be burried outside of the town or city
                            1. Baths were very cheap to use
                            2. Why were they able to have large Public Health schemes?
                              1. They had a large slave workface
                                1. Roman empire wanted Public Health
                                  1. To keep the army healthy
                                    1. Keep the population happy
                                    2. The empire was wealthy
                                      1. The empire was efficiently controlled they had time to build Public Health schemes (peace)
                                      2. How successful was Roman Public Health
                                        1. Some towns and cities were cleaner places but not all
                                          1. This helped to prevent sickness but did not stop sickness
