Primary Motor Cortex
1. Posterior portion of frontal lobe

Premotor cortex
1. mirror neurones - empathy
2. online coordination of movements for the primary motor cortex
3. Imitation
4. Lateral integrates sensory environmental information to guide body movement (object based actions)
5. Medial deals with overlearnt actions and sequences
Prefrontal cortex
1. Executive function
  1. ventrolateral prefrontal cortex - dealing with abrupt onsets of change in the environment
  2. dorsolateral prefrontal cortex - working memory, cognitive flexibility and planning, decision making
  3. anterior prefrontal cortex - risk taking and higher cognitive processes
  4. orbital prefrontal cortex - planning, reasoning and decision making
2. Personality, decision making, moderating social behaviour
3. selecting and maintaining actions according to goals
  1. Orchestration of thoughts and actions
4. damage results in poor concentration, orientation, abstracting ability, judgement and problem solving
Action schema- programmed muscle movements which have specific goals - overlearnt
1. Script - a series of schemas i.e driving

utilisation behaviour - using an object appropriately at an incorrect time "grabbing" e.g. seeing a bottle that isn't theirs and drinking from it
