Extracting Oils from Plants
- Some fruits and seeds contain a lot of oil
- Oily fruits:
- avocados
- olives
- Oily seeds: -brazil nuts
-peanuts -sesame seeds
- These oils can be extracted by
crushing the plant material,
pressing them between metal plates
and squashing the oil out to be
used for food or fuel. This is the
traditional method for olive oil

centrifuge - like using a spin-dryer
to get water out of wet clothes
