Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the
progression from it to the full product?
Front Cover
Colour Scheme
The colour scheme is almost the same that I have used in the real thing. I
have used the simple red, white and black. The red was mainly for the
making specific text stand out or as a box.
Image
The amount of images and the quality of them have definitely changed, in the preliminary task I used a
phone camera to take a picture of the model, where as I used a stills camera for the coursework. The
lighting of my images has also changed as they helped to illustrate a personality in my coursework
where as in the prelim I used just one light overhead and the picture was quite dull. The positioning has
stayed relatively the same as it takes up most of 2 thirds of the page.
The layout of the front cover hasn't really changed much just the
image positioning and the coverlines on the magazine have
changed position and also gotten shorter and catchier

Contents page
Layout
The layout of my contents page has dramatically changed, they were both
unconventional layouts but my prelim wasn't a grid formation and it could
barely fit anything more than 4 things on it when it really needed to have
multiple subjects. The final product is full of text abd inages layed out in an
unconventional grid format with Kerrang magazine as my inspiration
Images
The amount of images on the contents page has increased and the variety of shot types has increased
as my understanding of media techniques has increased and this has helped me to include a variety of
shots in different locations. The lighting on the photos has been mainly high key or natural
Colour Scheme
The colour scheme has kept the same as the prelim by keeping it as a simple
black, white and red because it is a classic contrast
