Systematic Desensitisation (Evaluation)
  1. This therapy has been successful in treating phobias, and reducing anxiety and stress. It is a proven technique that does modify behaviour in such situations
    1. This therapy starts to work quite fast
      1. Clients can see a change in their behaviour quickly
      2. It is empowering
        1. Helps clients take control of their phobia, and learn how to overcome it
        2. It is not successful for some behavioural problems, E.g. aggression, mental disorders. Therefore it is not successful with all behavioural problems.
          1. Only concerned with treating behaviours which are seen, it doesn't alter thoughts that could be behind behavioural issues
            1. Once treatment stops, behaviours could revert back to the original problematic behaviours
            2. It doesn't consider that there are other factors that may be needed to change behavioural problems
              1. Childhood experiences (Psychodynamic)
