Computer science
  1. ROM and RAM
    1. RAM
      1. RAM is the memory in which the computer stores data in current use
        1. RAM is volatile becuase one the power is switched off, data inside of it is lost
        2. ROM
          1. ROM provides the computer with instructions that do not change
            1. This is Non-Volatile
          2. Cloud storage
            1. Cloud computing is the term for processing your data on computer systems that belong to someone else, and accesingthem from the internet
              1. Advantages: Access from anywhere with internet connection, Offices across the world can access the same files, disaster recovery is easier
                1. Disavantages: You need a reliable internet connection and Someone else is keeping your files safe
                2. Embedded systems
                  1. Embedded system is where a computer system is a part of a much bigger deviced
                    1. Examples: Traffic lights, watches, MRI scans and MP3 players
                    2. Systems Architeture
                      1. Arithmetic logic Unit(ALU)
                        1. The ALU performs mathmatical and logical operations required by the code then passes the result to them memory
                        2. Buses
                          1. A communication system within a computer that transfers data between components
                          2. Control unit
                            1. The component in the CPU that directs the operation of the processor, it controls the data movements around the processor
                            2. Clock
                              1. The Clock keeps everything in the CPU in time. The faster the clock speed the more instructions a CPU can execute per second
                            3. The Fetch-execute cycle
                              1. Fetch: The next instruction is fetched to the CPU from the main memory
                                1. Decode: The instruction is decoded to work out what it is
                                  1. execute: The instruction is executed, this may mean write/read to/from main memory
                                  2. Von Neumann
