1. Make Observations Must be Objective Must be verifiable Based on Actual events
2. Form a hypothesis inductive reasoning of observations Must be testable and falsifiable Cause and effect relationship Null hypothesis to disprove an effect
3. Make a Prediction generate a prediction from deductive reasoning A specific outcome is predicted need to decide if the hypothesis is true
4. Create an Experiment Controlled experiment elimination of any variables must be able to be replicated
5. Analyse the Results Was the hypothesis proven? Was there a verifiable effect? Were the variables controlled?
6. Form a Conclusion The results agree or disagree Never can be fully disproven Experiment can be replicated to prove results
