Sun

lights our planet, is just the closest star to us

Size and Mass

Essentially spherical with a diameter of more than a hundred times the earth

What is it made of?

a big ball of hydrogen and helium gas

can be split into four distinct sections (a photosphere, convection zone, radioactive zone, and core)
