- 2What does a computer system consist of?Hardware and software that work together to process data / complete tasks.
- 3Name a type of computer system.Dedicated systems (designed for one particular function, e.g. controlling traffic lights or an aeroplane).
General purpose (designed to perform many tasks, e.g. PCs and tablets) - 4What are embedded systems?Computers built into other devices.
- 5Give examples of embedded systems.Dishwashers, microwaves and TVs
- 6Advantages of Embedded systems.they're dedicated to a single task, embedded systems are usually easier to design, cheaper to produce, and more efficient at doing their task.
- 7What is the CPU?CPU stands for Central Processing Unit. The CPU is the brain of the computer and processes all of the data and instructions that make the system work.
- 8What does the processing power of a CPU depend on?Clock speed, number of cores and cache size.
