- 1Spread sheets are used for explaining things making models, which are explained later. to make tables which are easy to readand can work out sums automatically.
they are very useful.
Some key words that are explained in more detail later are... - 2Table, cells, columns,rows, border, number, total, calculation, colour, font, centre, cell reference, size, highlight, formula, excel, currency, fill handle.Model- shows if or how well something an , object, business or event will work by showing the income and expenditure.
- 3Model- create a copy of a real thing and change the criteria to get different outcomes.Put = at the start of any calculation
Use calculations if poss to save time.
If using calcs. drag down instead of writing the formula each time.
When using money put £ sign at the front.
Expand cells if words run. - 4Good presentation Colourful + easy to read. Writing makes sense. Professional- bold titles, borders ect. suggest improvements well set out detailed and technical words. easy to understand.Table- To show data and work out calcs.
cells- the little squares.
Columns- the squares going down, labeled abc
Rows- the squares going across, labeled 123 - 5Border- the line that surrounds the table and makes it easier to read. Total- certain numbers added together. Calculation- any sum including -, * and /Font- making the letters different.
cell reference- where the cell is e.g. A2 or H5
Formula- Something used to automatically work out sums. - 6Excel- the most popular spreadsheet program used on Microsoft. Currency- Pounds for example which if used need to have a symbol at the frontFill handle- is a little triangle in the corner of a cell which automatically copies or fills in the rest of the table e.g. mon, tue will fill in the rest wed thur ect.
