- 5The 5 Stages of Team Development. For a high performing team, the end of a project brings on feelings of sadness as the team members have effectively become as one and now are going their separate ways.

- 61: Forming StageThe “forming” stage takes place when the team first meets each other. In this first meeting, team members are introduced to each. They share information about their backgrounds, interests and experience and form first impressions of each other.

- 72: Storming StageAs the team begins to work together, they move into the “storming” stage. This stage is not avoidable; every team – most especially a new team who has never worked together before – goes through this part of developing as a team.

- 83: Norming StageWhen the team moves into the "norming" stage, they are beginning to work more effectively as a team. They are no longer focused on their individual goals, but rather are focused on developing a way of working together (processes and procedures).

- 94: Performing StageIn the "performing" stage, teams are functioning at a very high level. The focus is on reaching the goal as a group. The team members have gotten to know each other, trust each other and rely on each other.

- 105: Adjourning StageThis stage looks at the team from the perspective of the well-being of the team rather than from the perspective of managing a team through the original four stages of team growth.

- 11High-Perfomance TeamsHigh-performance teams (HPTs) is a concept within organization development referring to teams, organizations, or virtual groups that are highly focused on their goals and that achieve superior business results. High-performance teams outperform all other similar teams and they outperform expectations given their composition.

- 15Interest GroupsInterest groups are composed of individuals who may not be members of the same organization (command or task groups), but they are united by their interest in a common issue.

- 16Reference GroupA reference group is a special type of informal group that people use to evaluate themselves.

- 17The Apathetic GroupNot sincere to their demand and members do not actively engage in union activity.

- 18The Erratic GroupVery sensitive to their demand. Easily inflamed and easily pacified. Engage in union activity without working. Deep rooted grievances exist without any reaction from the group.

- 19The Strategic GroupThese groups have a well planned strategy for fighting with the management for their grievances. They build continuous pressure.

- 20Conservative GroupConsists of members having critical or scarce skills. Though they have strong position yet are least engaged in union activity.
