- 1DOPPLER EFFECT Source moving towards...Higher frequency observed compared to source frequency. The source is catching up to waves previously produced, therefore waves are closer together causing a shorter wavelength. Shorter wavelength means higher frequency.
- 2DOPPLER EFFECT Source moving away...Lower frequency observed compared to the source frequency.
The source is moving away from waves previously produced, therefore waves are further apart causing a longer wavelength. Longer wavelength means lower frequency. - 3Standing wavesTwo identical waves travelling in the opposite directions. They move through each other, interfering constructively and destructively.
