- 1what is an output device?An output device is any device used to send data from a computer to another device or user. (printer)
- 2What is a storage device?a storage device is something that stores things like documents ,videos, photos etc (USB stick)
- 3What is an input device?an input device is is something you use to give a computer instructions(mouse)
- 4What is the purpose of a power supply?Just like your heart pumps blood around your body, the power supply pumps electricity around the computer.
- 5What is the purpose of the motherboard?The motherboard is like your central nervous system. It sends messages to all of the components inside the computer like your nerves send signals to different parts of your body.
- 6What is the purpose of the Processor?The processor is like your brain, it’s where all the processes are carried out (like thoughts in your head.)
- 7What is the purpose of the RAM?Random Access Memory (RAM) is where the computer stores the current task that is being carried out. This is like your short term memory when you are thinking about what you are about to say or have just eaten
- 8What is the purpose of ROM?ROM Stores a program used to boot up the computer. This is called the bootstrap loader
- 9What is the purpose of the Hard Drive?it stores stuff
- 10What is a repetitive strain injury (RSI) and what causes them?it is usually damage to the fingers and wrists caused by
repeated movements over a long period of time. - 11What is the cause of back injuries when using a computer?Usually due to poor posture or sitting in an awkward
position when using a computer. - 12What is eye strain and what is the cause?it is usually caused by staring at a computer screen for a
long time. Particularly in poor light, in glare or with a
flickering screen. - 13By law, what do employers have to provide for their employees? (in regards to working with computers)tiltable screens, anti-glare screen filters,
adjustable chairs,foot support ,suitable lighting,workstations are not cramped, when working on a computer staff take frequent breaks, appropriate eye and eyesight tests by an optician - 14What is the purpose of Binary?to talk to computers and store stuff
