Flashcards
The Knee
Flashcards do conjunto (17)
- 1The knee joint is made by the?Femur and the Tibia
- 2The articulation of the Tibia and the Fibula make the ......... jointTibio-fibula Joint
- 3Find the Tibia: Condyles (M/L), Intercondylar tubercles, Tibial tuberosity, shaft and medial malleolus
- 4The Patella is which type of bone and is embedded in which muscle?Sesamoid bone
Quadriceps muscle - 5Classify the knee joint:- Synovial
- Biaxial
- Modified Hinge
(Condyloid) - 6What are the movements of the knee joint?Flexion/Extension
Locking/unlocking (internal/external rotation) - 7Classify the Patello-femoral jointA synovial hinge joint formed between three bones: the femur, tibia, and patella.
(plane joint?, Multiaxial?, biaxial? - 8Lable the intracapsular, capsular, and extracapsula ligaments. locate the intra-articular structures:
- 9Both the fibular collateral and tibial collateral limits and prevents...?Limits extension
Prevents abduction (Tibial), Adduction (Fibular) - 10name the 5 Knee flexors -B -S -S -P -s- Biceps Femoris
- Semitendinosus
- Semimembransous
- Politeus
- Sartorius - 11where so the semitendinosus and semimembranosus arise from?Ischial of pelvis to the tibia
- 12what nerve innovates the sartorius muscle? The femoral nerve
- 13Name the quadricep muscles (4)Rectus femoris
vastus lateralis
vastus medialis
vastus intermedius - 14Name the three muscle shown in this pictureBiceps Femoris (in green)
Semitendenosus (infront)
Semimembranosus (behind)
- 15which nerve innovates all the Quadriceps? The femoral Nerve
- 16Which nerve innovates the Politeus? The Tibial nerve
- 17which nerve innovates the Biceps femoris semitendinosus & Semembranosus? The Sciatic nerve
