Flashcards do conjunto (31)
- 1what is a variable?Its a memory location used to store a value.
The value stored can be changed while the program is running - 2what is a constant? Its a memory location that stores a value.
The value can be accessed but cannot be changed while program is running. - 3What are the differences between a variable and a constant?variables can be changed while the program is running and a constant cannot.
- 4What is a integer?A whole number without any decimal places.
For example 12 or 12347 - 5what is a floating point?A number with decimal points or sometimes known as Real.
For example 1.394 or 4.39128 - 6what is a character?A single character, number or symbol.
For example "A" or "5" - 7what is a string?A sequence of characters which can be include letters or include characters, spaces and others.
- 8what is a Boolean? It only has two values either True or false.
- 9What is casting?Converting a variable from one data type to another.
- 10AddingAdding two values together
- 11SubtractTaking away two values from each other
- 12MultiplyTimes two numbers together
- 13Real divisiondivides first value by the second value
- 14Integer division(DIV)Used to find the number before the decimal point after division
- 15Remainder(MOD)used to find the remainder
- 16ExponentialRaises the value to the power of the power of the exponent
E.G. 4 squared - 17Greater than (>)Is the left value greater than the right
- 18Less than(<)Is the right value greater than the right
- 19Greater than or equal too (>=)is the left value equal or bigger than the right value
- 20Less than or equal too(<=)Is the right value less than or equal to the right value
- 21(==) equal tooIs it equal too
- 22(!=) not equal tooare the two values the same
- 23NOTIf one of the outputs are true or false then the other output is
- 24ANDBoth inputs need to be true for the results to be true
- 25ORIf either or both of the inputs are true then the results will be true
- 26IterationIt is the process of repeating a set of instructions for a fixed amount of time or until a condition is met
- 27selectionIt is when condition is used too decide whether the instructions should be executed
- 28SequenceIt a series of instructions in which each instruction is executed after the previous one has been executed
- 29Differences between DIV and MODDIV does whole number division and gets the whole number but MOD is remainder division and gets the remainder
- 30Data typesData used by a computer in are presented in strings of 1s and 0s
- 31ConcatenationIts used join strings togetrher
