- 1What is the difference between declarative and imperative programming? With imperative programming, you tell the compiler what you want to happen, step by step.
With declarative programming, on the other hand, you write code that describes what you want, but not necessarily how to get it. - 2What is polymorphism?Polymorphism is the maintenance of multiple implementations behind a common interface.
An integral part of polymorphism is the common interface. There are two ways to define an interface in PHP: interfaces and abstract classes. Both have their uses, and you can mix and match them as you see fit in your class hierarchy. - 3What is Encapsulation?Encapsulation simply means the hiding of data and functionality from a client
- 4What is the difference between lexical and dynamic scope? With static (lexical) scoping, the structure of the program source code determines what variables you are referring to. With dynamic scoping, the runtime state of the program stack determines what variable you are referring to.
This is likely a very unfamiliar concept, since basically every programming language in wide use today (except perhaps emacs lisp) uses lexical scoping, which tends to be dramatically easier for both humans and analysis tools to reason about.. - 5What is the difference between runtime and compile time?Compile-time: the time period in which you, the developer, are compiling your code.
Run-time: the time period which a user is running your piece of software. - 6What is the Principle of Least Privilege, also sometimes called Least Authority or Least Exposure? This principle states that in the design of software, such as the API for a module/object, you should expose only what is minimally necessary, and “hide” everything else.
