- 1processorControls the operation of the computer and perfoms its data processing functions. When there is only one processor, it is often reffered to as the central processing unit (CPU)

- 12Address registerscontein main memory addresses of data. May be general purpose or devoted to a particular way. (Index, segment ptr, stack ptr)
- 13Index registerIndexed addressing involves adding an index to a base value to get the effective address
- 14Segment pointerSegmented addressing is divided into segments which are variable-length blocks of words
- 15Stack pointerAllows the use of instructions that contain no address field, such as push and pop
