- 1MalwareShort for malicious software. It is a software that is designed to disrupt or harm a user's computer
- 2PhishingPhishing is when an unauthorised person tries to collect personal and sensitive data. Phishing is people sending emails pretending to be a company to try to gain people's personal details

- 6Social EngineeringSocial engineering prays on the issue that people are often the weak point in the security. Tricking people into breaking security procedures t break into a network
- 7Brute-force attacksThis type of threat is when a person tries to access a network by cracking the login details
- 8Denial-of-service attack (DoS)This type of threat is designed to flood a network with useless traffic. This will make it run very slowly or grind to a halt altogether
- 9Data interception and theftThis type of threat is when data packets are monitored that are travelling around a network.
- 10SQL injectionSQL is short for Structured Query Language. An SQL injection attack is when a hacker inputs SQL commands into a login form in order to gain access to a database
- 11Poor Network PolicyA network may become under threat if an organisation has a poor network policy. If an organisation do not test their network regularly they may find that one can be exploited before it is found and fixed.
