- 1Agonal BreathingIrregular, slow and deep breaths, frequently accompanied by a characteristic snoring sound
Originate from brain stem (remains functioning for some minutes even when deprived of oxygen)
Present in up to 40% of cardiac arrest victims
It is not a sign of circulation and CPR should be started immediately!
