Questão Responda
The male reproductive system The human male reproductive system contains these parts: glands, sperm ducts, urethra, penis and testes.
Testes The two testes have a bag of skin called the scrotum.
Sperm duct and glands The sperm goes through the sperm ducts, and with fluids made by the glands. The fluids feed the sperm cells with nutrients. The mixture of sperm and fluids is called semen.
Penis and urethra The urethra is the tube inside the penis that carries urine or semen. A ring of muscle makes sure that there is no chance of urine and semen getting mixed up.
The female reproductive system The human female reproductive system contains these parts: oviducts, ovaries, uterus, cervix and vagina.
Ovaries and oviducts The two ovaries contain lots of female gametes. These are called ova or egg cells. Women have these cells in their bodies from birth. Ovary is connected to the uterus by the oviduct. This is can be called a Fallopian tube or egg tube.
Uterus and cervix The uterus is a muscular bag with a soft lining. The uterus is where a baby develops until its birth. The cervix is a ring of muscle at the bottom line of the uterus. It keeps the baby in place while the woman is pregnant.
Vagina The vagina is a muscular tube that leads from the cervix to the outside of the woman's body. A man's penis goes into the woman's vagina during sex.
Fertilisation Fertilisation happens when an egg cell meets with a sperm cell.
Gametes
Foetus The foetus relies upon its mother as it develops. It needs protein, nutrients and oxygen to survive.
Placenta The placenta is an organ responsible for providing oxygen and nutrients
Gestation It takes about 40 weeks for a baby to develop in the uterus.
