Direction of an Integer: Positive - right of zero Negative - left of zero
Absolute Value the distance from zero. Absolute value has no sign. It is NOT positive or negative.
Opposite the opposite of an integer is the integer with an opposite sign
To Use a Number Line to Do Integer Addition or Subtraction: 1) Draw a number line with an appropriate scale. 2) Find and label the starting value. 3) Beginning at the starting value, drawn in steps shown by the operation in your expression. 4) Find and label your finishing value.
