- 1Program CounterA register that holds the memory address of the next instruction to be run/fetched
- 2AccumulatorStores the intermediate results of a calculation
- 3Memory Address Register (MAR)Stores the address where the data will be fetched/written
- 4Memory Data Register (MDR)Stores the data or instruction which is being fetched from memory
- 5CacheThe area of the CPU which stores regularly used data
- 6Control UnitIt is used to decode instructions in the MDR, will control the flow of data by sending signals inside and outside of the CPU
- 7The clock speedThe amount of times your CPU can complete the fetch-decode-execute cycle
- 8Types of calculations the ALU can performAddition and Subtraction
- 9CPUIt fetch, decodes and executes instructions
- 10Secondary StorageSecondary storage is non-volatile , long-term storage. It is used to keep programs and data indefinitely.
- 11VolatileThis means that memory will be lost when the power is interrupted or switched off
- 12Non-volatileMemory will be kept when the device is off
- 13LANA network over a small geographical area
- 14WANA network over a large geographical area
- 15Client serverClient–server model is a distributed application structure that partitions tasks or workloads between the providers of a resource or service, called servers, and service requesters, called clients.
- 16Peer to peer networkcomputer systems which are connected to each other via the Internet. Files can be shared directly between systems on the network without the need of a central server.
