- 1Definition of a Computer SystemA computer system is an electronic device made up of many components used for storing data, running software and access entertainment.
- 2The purpose of the CPUThe CPU is the part of a computer used for processing bits of data using binary. It runs on a fetch, decode and execute cycle.
- 3What happens during the FDE cycle?During dis cycle, the CPU first fetches the data and messages (input), then it decodes it turning it into binary, and finally runs the now binary form code
- 4What are the 3 C's?Cores - The core is the brain of the computer (the CPU)

Cache - Hardware or software used to store data - 5What are the components of a CPU?Control Unit, ALU, Clock, Registers, Buses
- 6What does the Control Unit do?The Control Unit is the part that runs the show.
- 7What is secondary storage?Secondary storage is a type of storage which can store data without electricity
- 8What are the three types of secondary storage, and what are their characteristics?Magnetic - Fast access speed, pretty cheap per unit, not portable as of moving parts and large size
Optical - Not a lot of storage and not fast access speed, but small and durable so good portability, cheap as well
Solid State - Very durable and has a small size for good portability, fast access speed and a good amount of storage, but very expensive
