| Biome | areas of the earth that have similar plants, animals, and climates. Biomes are often grouped into five main types: aquatics, deserts, forests, grasslands, and tundra. |
| Fitness | describes an individual's reproductive success and reflects how well an organism is adapted to its environment and to pass on its genes. |
| Selective Breeding | The process of selecting a few organisms with desired traits to serve as parents of the next generation |
| Evolution | The gradual change and diversification of living organisms over time. |
