Flashcards do conjunto (16)
- 1Pen DriveThe definition of a pen drive is small storage device shaped like a pen with built-in data storage that connects to a computer by a USB port. An example of a pen drive is a pen with a hidden USB port for saving data
- 2CDA compact disc is a small, portable, round medium made of molded polymer for electronically recording, storing, and playing back audio, video, text, and other information in digital form.
- 3DVDa type of compact disc able to store large amounts of data, especially high-resolution audiovisual material.
- 4Blu-Ray diskBlu-ray discs are a digital optical disc data storage format. It was designed to supersede the DVD format, in that it is capable of storing high-definition video resolution (1080p). The plastic disc is 120 mm in diameter and 1.2 mm thick, the same size as DVDs and CDs.
- 5Hard Diska rigid non-removable magnetic disk with a large data storage capacity.
- 6Floppy Diska flexible removable magnetic disk (typically encased in a hard plastic shell) for storing data.
- 7USB DevicesUSB flash drive is a small, portable device that plugs into a computer's USB port. Like a hard disk, a USB flash drive stores information, but with a flash drive you can easily transfer that information from one computer to another.
- 8Memory Carda small, flat flash drive used especially in digital cameras and mobile phones.
- 9Multimedia CardMultimedia Card is a kind of Flash Memory card standard. Based on NAND Flash Memory technology of Toshiba, it is thiner and smaller than earlier NOR Flash Memory of Intel like CF card. MMC card is as small as a stamp
- 10RAMRAM is a type of computer memory that can be accessed randomly; that is, any byte of memory can be accessed without touching the preceding bytes. RAM is the most common type of memory found in computers and other devices, such as printers.
- 11ROMOnce data has been written onto a ROM chip, it cannot be removed and can only be read. Unlike main memory (RAM), ROM retains its contents even when the computer is turned off. ROM is referred to as being nonvolatile, whereas RAM is volatile
- 12Tape DriveA tape drive is a data storage device that reads and writes data on a magnetic tape. Magnetic tape data storage is typically used for offline, archival data storage. Tape media generally has a favourable unit cost and a long archival stability.
- 13Cloud StorageCloud storage is a model of data storage in which the digital data is stored in logical pools, the physical storage spans multiple servers (and often locations), and the physical environment is typically owned and managed by a hosting company.
- 14Flash Memorya kind of memory that retains data in the absence of a power supply.
- 15Cassette Tapea cassette of audio tape or videotape
- 168-Track tape8-track tape is a magnetic tape sound recording technology popular in the United States from the mid-1960s to the late 1970s when the Compact Cassette format took over.
