IDEAS

1. Song--> "Run Boy Run" by Woodkid. --> Liked the song because it has an interesting beat and rhythm. We thought it could be a dance piece using this song in the background.

   • Characters- Boy (representing the environmental world), 2 masked figures (representing humanity and the destruction of the environment). The masks fuinctionned to hid the identities of the character so that they could represent all of humanity.
   • Didn't use--> referred back to skills audit and concluded we didn't have the physical ability or skill level

2. We changed our performance concept several times throughout this project, each idea evolving from the last. After concluding that our first project was not working, we decided to make a drastic change in our genre.

   • We never made any progress and the ideas we were having were not showing the kind of impact that were aiming for ("wow", leaving the audience wanting to make a change) --> Change our idea again after doing an evaluation., which was to
   • We decided to attempt a comedic piece. --> Why? --> many comedians use their comedy and their acts to cover very real and very serious topics which are often ignored in real life settings. Comedy can be a very efficacious form of communicating issues in a way that people enjoy

3. Two sisters + significant other. Sisters=grown apart (for a reason unknown to the audience) Sister 1 receives call from Sister 2 --> Sister 1 rushes home. to help with the problem. The issue = the house was on the coast and the land’s edge had been eroded away by the sea, --> the house was going to fall into the sea.

   • IDEA 4 --> IDEA BEFORE THE FINAL ONE
   • Our thoughts behind this was to echo the fact that you don’t know that many things are going to happen until it’s too late. --> There are a lot of very easy things that we can all do to help stop or slow these things yet few people try. = Wanted to shock the audience with this.
   • -Tension, suspense, mystery, shock. --> "Audience on the edge of their seats".
   • Changed idea again because 1. Couldn't create correct atmosphere 2. Not enough connoations of human destruction

4. Our main priority was telling an impactful story while the audience could interpret the piece in their own way. We discussed this --> Thought try another genre to explore our skills. We decided to create a very dramatic piece of theatre which was much more naturalistic and allowed the audience to become lost in the theatre as if it were their lives. We were using our knowledge of Stanislavski’s ideas and methods to try and achieve this. This idea was the base of our final piece and was where the group really came together as it was the first idea which worked for all of us and still portrayed what we wanted.
