Storage

Storage

1. Ram

   • Random Access Memory
     • Advantages of a RAM file system: Silent: since there are no moving parts RAM operation is completely silent. Power-efficient: for the same reasons, RAM uses much less power than disk drives
       • 500 GB
     • Disadvantages of a RAM file system: Volatile: a power outage will cause irrecoverable data loss, unless there is some power backup system like a laptop battery. Space-limited: RAM cost per bit is high, so computers don't include too much of it.

2. Rom

   • Read Only Memory
     • You can upgrade to the newest Android versions which come with security updates, compatibility upgrades and bug fixes. Getting the newest version also in my opinion makes the user experience much more comfortable.
       • 4 to 80 gigabytes

3. Solid State Drive

   • It uses flash memory to store data, which provides better performance and reliability over an HDD. The HDD has moving parts and magnetic platters, meaning the more use they get, the faster they wear down and fail.
   • Low power consumption: An HDD consumes more power because it relies on the rotation of the magnet-coated metal platter for reading and writing data.
     • 4TB max

4. Optical Drive

   • Optical media offer the following advantages for storing data over conventional magnetic disks: Mass storage capacity Mountable/unmountable storage units.
   • Smaller storage capacity than a hard drive or DVD Most computers can read CDs. If there is no CD drive, a DVD drive can usually read them Slower to access than the hard disk.
     • 1.44 megabytes

5. Hard Disk Drive

   • Advantages and disadvantages of hard disk drive. A hard disk drive or a hard drive is a data storage device that uses magnetic recording to store and retrieve digital information. .A paired magnetic head reads and writes data on this coating while the platter spins.
     • 1 gigabyte
