5.4 Physical security

1. Locks and keypads

   • Prevent access to computer rooms, storage facilities or access to hard drives.

2. Biometric readers

   • Electronic devices that determine a person's identity by detecting fingerprints or eyes.

3. Radio frequency identification (RFID)

   • Use radio waves or electromagnetic waves to identify and track.

4. Tokens

   • Small hardware devices, such as a smart card which allow access to a network.
     • For example, tokens can be sent to customers by banks to access online banking services.

5. Privacy screens

   • Prevent content on screen being seen by anyone not directly in front of it.

6. Shredding

   • Cutting up documents or optical disks into small pieces so that it is impossible for them to be reconstructed.
