Network prevention
- Firewalls
- A firewall is a network security system that will monitor incoming and outgoing networking trafficing. so it can monitor somebodies phone and trace calls, emails or messages if the are presumed to be in danger.
- User Access Levels
- User Access Levels is something where network managers set up a group of users with different levels of access to the same network. At the highest level the network managers can install and remove the softwares and access all user areas and change permissions.
- Anti-malware software
- An anti-malware is something that is designed to prevent, detect and remove malicious software on IT systems as well as individual computer devices. This helps to keep all of your personal and confidential information safe. However, you would need to have secure passwords on your accounts/ devices so that nobody can hack into them because this software doesn't prevent everything.
- Data Encryption
- Data Encryption is something that translates written information into something else whether it be numbers or something else. So only people can access it with a secret key or code or password can read it. This method is the most popular used because it keeps your data safe and only you and whoever else will know how to access the information.
- Follow forums
- You should follow forums or news pages so that if you feel like you're going to be under attack you can follow them to find out prevention tips.
- Network security policies
- An NSP is a document that outlines rules for computer network accesses and to determine how their policies are enforced and lays out some of the basic architecture of the company and their security/ network security.
- Network forensics
- Network forensics is a sub-branch of digital forensics relating to the monitoring and analysis of your computer network trafficing for the purpose of gathering information and legal evidence.
- Penetration testing
- Penetration testing is where there is an authorised simultanious attack on a computer system to evaluate their security systems.
- Firewalls
network vulnerabilities
- Denial of service attack
- The denial of service attack is where the hacker seeks to make a machine where its intended users are temporarily or indefinitely disrupting services of a host connecting to the internet. Denial of service is typically where
- brute force attack
- the brute force attack is where hackers use the trial and error method to guess your passwords for things like social medias or more personal accounts. in a brute force attack a software is used to create consecutive guesses to the given amount of values.
- missing data encryption
- Missing data encryption is where data is injected into a stream of information/ communication between two parties. this denies the victim from blocking personal data.
- phishing
- Phishing is where the assailant sends fraudulent emails acting as if they are a known company. they will often do this many times. this allows them to get the victims personal information such as bank card numbers or their house addresses. This can allow them to pose as the victim stealing their identity.
- Trojan horse
- The trojan horse attack is something that claims to get rid of your computer viruses when actually it only introduces more viruses to your computer leaving it unable to operate properly. this type of attackl gives the hackers malicious users to access to soft wares on your computer. this can mean they can have access to your confidential data or your personal data.
- Social engineering
- Social engineering is where a group of people attempt to manage social change as well as regulating the future development and behaviour of the society.
- man in the middle
- the man in the middle attack is where the attacker secretly relays , possibly altering in their paths, the communications between two parties who they believe are communicating together.
- data interception
- data interception is where a hacker steals unauthorised information or personal/ company data from an unknowing victim. the usually have an intention of compromising privacy or obtaining your personal information.
- Packet sniffing/ eavesdropping
- a packet sniffer is something that intercepts data flowing through a network. if computers are connected to a local network that has not been filtered or switched, the information can be broadcasted to all of the devices contained in the same segment.
- ransomware
- Ransomware is something malicious that is designed to block access to a computer usually until a sum of money has being payed.
- Malware
- Malware is a software that is specifically designed to disrupt, damage or gain access to a computer system.
- Denial of service attack
