1. WATERFALL LIFE CYCLE MODEL

   • Advantages of the Waterfall mode
     • Easy to use
     • Has a specific purpose
     • Small development projects
   • Disadvantages of the Waterfall model
     • Its usefulness is limited
     • all requirements must be indicated
     • No working software is developed until very late in the process

2. V-SHAPED LIFE CYCLE MODEL

   • Advantages of the V-Shaped model
     • Specific goals are defined for each phase
     • the V-Shaped model a higher chance for success
     • Is appropriate for small development projects
   • Disadvantages of the V-Shaped model
     • Makes it inappropriate for most projects
     • All requirements must be stated at the beginning of the project
     • The V-shaped model risks time and energy in the absence of careful planning

3. INCREMENTAL LIFE CYCLE MODEL

   • Advantages of the Incremental model
     • Generates a working prototype early in the development process
     • Makes it more flexible when adding or changing requirements
     • Is an effective tool for managing risk
   • Disadvantages of the Incremental model
     • Cannot be overlapped.
     • Incremental model may incur errors in early iterations
     • May be inappropriate for large, longterm projects

4. SPIRAL LIFE CYCLE MODEL

   • Advantages of the Spiral model
     • Ideal for large-scale and missioncritical
     • The Spiral model is built on earlier software development
     • Plenty of time to ease into adoption of the software.
   • Disadvantages of the Spiral mode
     • Can cost considerably more to implement than other life cycle models.
     • The risk analysis phase requires highly specific expertise
     • Is inappropriate for use in small and medium-scale projects
