1. it i non-volatile storage.it is needed in a computer system to store your programs operating system and files

   • non -volatile means that the data is not deleted when the computer system has no power connected to it.

2. optical

   • (disadvantages) not that durable compared to solid state therefore if you drop there is more of a chance that it will brake.
   • (advantages) it is very portable compared to magnetic therefore it can connect to bigger range of devices easier.

3. magnetic

   • (disadvantages) slower read write speed compared to solid state which means that it loads and stores data slowly.
   • it has a higher capacity compared to solid state therefore it can store more programs and file.

4. solid state

   • a disadvatage for solid state would be that it has a lower capacity than magnetic so it means that it cant load files and data as fast as magnetic.
   • solid state has a faster read write speed compared to magnetic therefore it will load and save data faster then magnetic
