unit 2.1 algorithms

1. computational thinking

   • a way of understanding complex problems
   • decomposition- breaking a problem down into smaller pieces
   • abstraction- removing details that are not relevant to solving the problem
   • algorithmic thinking- identifying logical steps from the problem to a solution to produce reusable algorithm
   • sequence- a series of steps that are to be completed one by one
     • selection- steps that only occur if a certain situation is met
       • iteration- steps that repeat, either for a fixed number or times or until a condition is met
