4. Eddie agrees for Rodolfo and Marco to stay at his apartment as they are illegal immigrants

   • As Rodolfo and Catherine begin to fall in love, Eddie gets very jealous of them
     • Because Eddie thinks he owns Catherine, he immediately turns against Rodolfo
   • Eddie ends up snitching to the immigration bureau
     • Marco stabs and kills Eddie for this
       • Eddie gets killed with his own knife
         • This shows how it has all come around back on Eddie
         • Eddie gains some dignity here, people could have some respect for him for dying
     • This shows how emotionaly unstable he is
     • Eddie breaks the Redhook law
       • He betrays his whole family and community

5. Eddie had fallen in love with his niece/adoped daughter

   • He is very over protective of her
   • He can't let go
   • He is very controlling
   • He is taking her life away from her
     • Eddie thinks he owns her, he thinks that he is her boss and if he wants her he can get her
     • Eddie is taking Catherines life away by giving her no freedom
   • With his addiction to Catherine, he is leaving Beatrice out
     • He doesn't think how Beatrice feels, he has the perfect wife and he is letting her go
   • Obsessive and unnatural

    • This is Eddie talking to Rodolfo right before they fight, here Eddie is doing what he knows best and taking things into his own hands

    • Eddie can't deal with the fact of other men looking at Catherine
