INDUCTORS
Synonym for: coil, choke and reactor
A device that temporarily stores energy in the form of a magnetic field, it usually is just a coil of wire
- It resists sudden changes in current, but the current in an inductor doesn't suddenly change since a current is continuous
- Inductors have almost no effect on DIrect Current, the only thing they would do is create very little resistance to the current
- It can be used in series or parallels
- In series, the total inductance is MORE than any individual one
- in parallel, the total inductance is LESS than any individual one
- It resists sudden changes in current, but the current in an inductor doesn't suddenly change since a current is continuous
Relation to energy
- The more wire you coil, the stronger the magnetic field, as the magnetic field expands when the current flows through it, it will eventually stabilize and begin to store the energy
- Expansion of the magnetic field
- The direction of the magnetic field given the current
- Expansion of the magnetic field
- If the current stops flowing, meaning the magnetic field starts decreasing, then the energy stored will become electric energy once more.

Types of inductors
- AIir core inductors have very low inductance, so they are most useful for high frequencies
- Iron core inductors have large inductance capabilities, so they are used more for low frequencies
- Ferrite core inductors are the most common, but not because of their inductance levels, rather by how controllable it is since its permeability is easy to manage
