1. Typically a office computers components usually include a monitor, keyboard, a DVD drive and the main case

2. Monitors

   • Computer monitors are output devices used to display the tasks being worked on by the user.
   • Monitors can either be 'normal' or widescreen in shape
   • Standard Moniters
     • Most office components are the 'normal' 4:3 screens, as these allows most documents to be viewed in the normal proportions
   • Widescreen Moniter
     • A Widescreen Monitor is more suited to playing video games and watching movies other than doing office tasks. However, a widescreen monitor can display documents side by side, or be rotated to display a document in full.
   • Rotatable Monitors
     • Rotating monitors allow (for example) A4 page documents to be viewed in their entirety.

3. Portable Computing Devices

   • Laptop Computer
     • A laptop computer has an integrated screen, keyboard and a pointing device. Laptops allow the user to carry out most office tasks while away from the office.
   • Netbook
     • A netbook computer is smaller than a normal laptop and usually they are lower spec and light. Also, most of them don't have an optical drive.
   • Tablet Computer
     • Tablet computers are portable devices that usually have no pointing device or physical keyboard
   • Smart Phones
