Computer preformance
Clockspeed
- The amount of Fetch, Decode and Execute cycles preformed by the CPU per second.
- Upgrading the clockspeed means that the fetch, decode and execute cycle will be preformed more per second. For example: If you had a 2 GHz clockspeed then change it to a 4GHz clockspeed it'll be twice as fast.
Cores
- Independent processors in the CPU simultaneously preforming fetch, decode and execute cycle.Allowing the CPU to multitask.
- Upgrading the amount of cores allows the CPU to multitask simultaneously. For example having more cores means more instructions being able to be full filled
Cache
- The memory used to store frequantly accessed data. even when the computer is turned off. (Non-volatile)
- Upgrading Cache makes it quicker for the CPU to access instructions
RAM
- Stores the data/memory currently being used. Isn't stored when the computer is turned off (volatile)
- Adding more RAM allows the CPU to not use as much Virtual Memory making it quicker to execute instructions
