1. What is electronics?

   • Is the use of electric current to control, communicate, and process information
     • electronic signal
       • is a varying electric current that presents information
     • camaras can use eletrons signals to take photographs
       • Analog and Digital signals
         • there are two basic kinds of electronic signal: analog signals and digital signals
           • analog signals
             • a current is varied smoothly to represent information .
               • digital signals
                 • pulses if current are used to represent information
                   • semiconductor devices
                     • is a material that conducts current better than insulators
                       • how semiconductor work
                         • by controlling the number and type of atoms added, scientists produce two types of semiconductor
                           • integrated circuits
                             • is a thin slice of semiconductor that contains diodes
                               • telephones
                                 • sounds is transformed into an electronic signal that is transmitted and formed back into sound
                                   • transmitter: is a device that transfers signals
                                   • television
                                     • electromagnetic waves can be used to carry images as well as sound
                                       • COMPUTERS
                                         • is an electronic device that stores , processes, and retrives information.
                                           • computers networks
                                             • is a group of computers connected by cables or telephones lines.
                             • soundnr recording
                               • saund can be reproduce using an analog device
                               • magnified view of stylus in a record groove
                               • radio
                                 • voices or music on am or fm radio station are electronic
                       • transistors
                         • has two uses: it either amplifies an electronic signal or switches current
